Open Settings, check the model and sensitivity

1. 1Click [Settings] at the top right — a panel with four tabs opens: Plan, Display, Features, Glossary.
2. 2Select the [Features] tab.
3. 3Interpretation Model — choose between anessNote 2.0 (high accuracy, real-time optimised) and anessNote 3.0 (fast response, natural voice interpretation). 2.0 is the default.
4. 4Sensitivity — 0 (sensitive) to 10 (less sensitive), default 5. Lower values pick up more background noise, so raise it in a noisy room.

Speech wait time and external microphone

1. 1End-of-sentence wait — how long to wait after a sentence ends. Instant (0 s) to slow (2.0 s), default 1.0 s.
2. 2Mid-sentence wait — how long to wait mid-sentence. Instant (0 s) to slow (5.0 s), default 5.0 s.
   Shorter is faster; longer groups sentences.
3. 3External Microphone — choose the mic used for audio input. Connected external mics appear in the list.

1. 1Open Windows Settings ▸ Privacy & security ▸ [Microphone] and check that Microphone access is On.
2. 2On the same page set Let apps access your microphone to On, and make sure anessNote is On in the list below it.
3. 3Scroll to the bottom and turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.
   anessNote is a desktop app, so this is the one that matters most.
4. 4Quit anessNote completely and start it again. Under [Settings ▸ Features] ▸ External microphone, pick the device you want (e.g. Microphone Array) and press [Save].
